Fox Jaws Clenched

Toronto has some great local bands. And, as we've been finding out as of late, Toronto's suburban sprawl is pumping out musical goodness with that makes the downtown core jealous. Fox Jaws is a 5-piece from Barrie, Ontario which has been making a pretty serious splash in the past few months off the success of their debut full-length, Goodbye Doris; the name being ode to the band's previous name, Doris Day. The album is 11 tracks of whispy alt-folk-pop that makes solid use of a great male/female dynamic, care of talented co-vocalists Carleigh Aikins and Dan Allen.

Thankfully, Fox Jaws have no qualms about sharing with us urbanites. They play the El Mocambo this Friday, April 25th, with Nevado records labelmates Elephant who are featured on this year's Skate 4 Cancer national tour.
