Everybody's Nude

A week ago today Radiohead announced a contest with a twist. The challenge? Remix the band's latest single, "Nude", submit it to the remix website and get the most people to vote for it. The cost? $4.95 The prize? Nothing. Well, Radiohead might listen to your remix.

The band made the track's five source elements available for 99 cents each on iTunes last week and almost 1,000 remixes have been submitted to the Nude Remix website since. Currently leading the pack with over 6,000 votes is Holy Fuck's version, but there are tons of other contenders including Amplive's "Nudez" and Night Facilities' sparse and haunting rework.

Remix Sunday: Night Facilities takes on Adele

For those of you who haven't heard of Adele basically all you need to know is that she's only 19, won the first Brit Awards Critics’ Choice prize in December, and she is considered to be the next Amy Winehouse. Which is fortunate, as the original Amy Winehouse probably won't be around a whole lot longer. Adele's album 19 hit number 1 in the UK charts in January and New York, L.A., Toronto and London stops on her current tour are already sold out.

British remixer extraordinaire Night Facilities recently worked his magic on Adele's first single 'Hometown Glory' and it might even be better than the original. His first volume of remixes is available here for free.

Remix Sunday - Night Facilities

Night Facilities is a dj/producer from Norwich, England. Dude's only 17 and he's already produced stellar remixes of The Go! Team, Cassius, Simian Mobile Disco, The Chemical Brothers and Daft Punk. In fact, he recently crafted one of my favourite Daft Punk remixes ever with his tweaked and sample-tastic reconstruction of 'Prime Time of Your Life'.

He also started his own blog back in August where he makes available rare songs, promos, remixes (both his and those done by others) and his own original creations. 'We Invented MTV' is one of the latter, and I recommend giving it a listen.
