MF Blaz's Ultimate Top 10.

About a month ago a good friend of mine ask me what my Top 10 favorite albums of all time were and I must've rattled off a good 30 albums before I stopped myself and told him that I would have to get back to him. After a month of endless hours devoted to picking out the best of the best I think I've been able to make a top ten list that will echo through the ages of my life. Now, let me just say that these albums might not be universally accepted by the blogging/indie/scene as great albums but to me they hold great meaning and weight to my life thus far. These 10 albums shaped me into the music lover I am today. I would be no where without them.

Please, feel free to comment with your Top 10...or 5..or 3... I'd love to hear what made you...you.

  1. That DFA 1979 album is definitely essential listening. Its a shame they broke up so early.

Trying to cut things down to a top 10 is really tough - but my three favorite albums are probabaly:

Audit In Progress - Hot Snakes
    S/T - Think About Life
    Entertainment! - Gang Of Four

I really enjoy these types of lists, especially when people aren't afraid to go outside the Pavement/MBV/Built To Spill/etc (just examples - not necessarily the right answers) box.

  2. Brilliant. I love trying to figure out these types of lists. Kudos for "If You're Feeling Sinister", a gem and no mistake. It would have made my top ten had you not picked it.
    So:

    Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030
    Billy Bragg - Workers Playtime
    Nina Nastasia - Dogs
    DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
    Isis - Panopticon
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
Herman Düne - Not On Top
    Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman
    Neil Young - Harvest
The Wannadies - Be A Girl
    Therapy? - Meat Abstract

That's a top eleven of LPs that I truly love and I'd be hard pushed to explain why.
