Killa Beeezzz

I'm one of the whitest boys alive but I kind of enjoy hip hop, rap, and some of that straight up g shit. New Wu-Tang Clan? Nice. A quasi-Beatles collaboration featuring 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'? Even better. Oh, John Frusciante and Erykah Badu kicking it as well? Let's hear it. "The Online Street Community", loud.com, dropped it the other night and it's growing on me.

It doesn't sample the original but instead thanks to assistance from George's son, Dhani, and I presume Frusciante sharing the guitar duties, replays most of the classic melody. It's soulful and relaxing, it's one of those laid back Wu tracks and I'm digging it. Coincidentally, I had just gotten home from sneaking into that new Beatles war/protest musical - it was ok; I liked the preview for Wes Anderson's latest, The Darjeeling Limited, a bit more.

Maybe the 8 Diagrams (out December 8) will turn out to be another Fishscale, one of last year's best albums in my opinion. Here are some great related tracks:

And now for something completely different. We were cruising around Victoria and heard this little gem stirring a ruckus out of community radio 101.9FM. It screams dance, it oozes '80s electro and it's by a guy out of Montreal. He's done some pretty good remix stuff and I liked the couple originals that the radio played.
